Jobless Warrior Announces Call for Volunteers

CUMBERLAND, RI [January 17, 2012]--  Jobless Warrior today officially launched its “Call for Volunteers” campaign to the professional Career Search industry and other private sector individuals and organizations.

Career coaches, resume writers, recruiters, job networking groups, employers, and anyone else in private industry who are able to help returning military veterans to navigate today’s complex job market are asked to sign up as Services Volunteers at the JoblessWarrior.org website.

“While we have all been worried about an 8-9% national unemployment rate,” said JR Rodrigues, founder of Jobless Warrior, “I believe that most Americans will be devastated to learn that our returning military heroes face unemployment rates as high as 21.9%!  It is a disgraceful and unacceptable situation.”

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics in 2010, young male veterans between the ages of 18 to 24 had an unemployment rate of 21.9 percent, with the overall veteran unemployment rate on a steady upward climb. The rate of unemployment for all military veterans increased almost 2 full percentage points in one year’s time, rising from 11.5% in June 2010 to 13.3% in June 2011.

The premise behind the Jobless Warrior concept is to supplement the offerings of traditional veterans’ organizations with the expertise of industry career professionals.  Jobless Warrior will act as a liaison between unemployed and underemployed military veterans and private industry career search professionals who will offer one-on-one, free, and discounted career search services.

More volunteers are needed now in all career search industry sectors.  Once enough volunteers have signed on, the Jobless Warrior service will go live for all unemployed or underemployed military veterans.

Volunteering is fast and easy.  Interested career professionals and other private citizens or organizations can visit http://www.joblesswarrior.org/volunteers.html  to sign-up, or they can send an email to info@joblesswarrior.org
